Essential Coffee roasts award winning premium coffee beans sourced from ethical plantations from around the world including certified Rainforest Alliance Coffees and FairTrade Coffees. Our passionate espresso specialists are always refining new blends and follow strict roasting profiles to ensure the integrity of each blend is maintained. The premium beans are roasted in-house for the ultimate freshness and taste – when used in our barista, automatic and commercial coffee machines.

Our roasting process follows a strict protocol. Each blend has its own individual profile programmed into the control system, ensuring consistency via a precise and repeatable method.

We utilise an Australian-made fluid bed system to roast its coffees, with capacity to roast three tonnes of coffee per day. The “fluid bed’ system produces less carbon emissions and is more energy efficient than most traditional roasting systems.

The heat transfer during the roasting process is designed to ensure that every bean is roasted to the same end-point condition of time and temperature. This ensures the flavour is at an equilibrium, and increases the shelf life of the roasted coffee (as whole beans).  The roaster can be heated completely by biofuel or natural gas and does not require an afterburner to remove smoke and odours, as these are processed back through the unit and turned into energy.
